Festival rounds, sorted.

Roundly tracks who's fetching, calculates the fairest split, and keeps your crew in the same place. Started at festivals. Works just as well for any night out where rounds get bought.

Roundly round overview
Why Roundly exists

The problem, on the record.

I've been going to festivals for years. Our group started small, grew into something large, and that was genuinely great, right up until they started scrapped the tokens to buy drinks. After that, keeping track of rounds stopped making sense. People would drift off into smaller groups, buy drinks for whoever was nearby, and by the end of the day nobody had any idea where they stood financially.

We tried a few things to fix it. None of them worked. My only real skill apart from drinking beer is writing code.

So I built Roundly

Partly to solve the rounds problem, partly to stop the constant "where are you, which stage?" texts that nobody ever answered in time anyway.

You can also use it for pub crawls, work drinks, even a weekend away with friends. Wherever a group buys rounds, it works the same way.

Features

Everything your group needs, in one place.

Round tracking

Who's fetching this one?

Add who's in, pick the drinks from your group's shared price list, and submit the round. Something not on the menu? Add a custom item with its own name and price. Add a short note if the round needs one ("the round that broke us"), and it shows up on the receipt. Every order is recorded against the fetcher, so nothing gets lost or debated at the end of the night.

Spin to decide

Nobody wants to go. Let fate decide.

Spin the wheel, let it pick. It uses your device's motion sensor, so the harder you shake it, the longer it spins. The odds are weighted too: the less you've spent so far, the bigger your slice, so the person who's been quietly avoiding the bar all day gets found out. The result is final. No arguments.

Settlement

The night, by the numbers.

Rounds and shared costs land in the same pot, and Roundly works out the fewest transactions needed to square everyone up. No mental math, no spreadsheets, no arguments about who owes what. Mark a payment as sent, let the person on the other end confirm it, and close out the tab.

Settlement screen

Find your crew

Set your stage, see where everyone else is. No more "where are you?" texts that go unanswered because everyone's phone is dead and the music is too loud.

Whereabouts screen

Stats that settle debates

Leaderboard, drink breakdown, biggest round, longest streak at the bar, and who's been suspiciously absent. Break it down per session or across the whole group's history, and see your own consumption separately. Not into being measured? Opt out and you're off the boards.

Stats screen

Your menu, your rules

Build a shared price list for your group, in your own currency. Add drinks, set prices, drag them into the order you actually use them. Running a pub crawl? Leave the price blank, track rounds as you go, and fill in a price for everyone at the end.

Split anything, not just rounds

The taxi, the campsite, the tickets someone fronted months ago. Split it evenly, give the person with the big tent two shares, or set a fixed amount for whoever already paid their bit. It lands in the same settlement as the drinks, so there's one number at the end, not two.

A nudge toward the water

Set it to every three drinks, or every ten. Once you hit your number, the fetch button turns into a reminder to get a water in. Tap to say you've had one and the count starts again. Off by default, and it's your setting, not the group's.

Who can do what

Members, organisers, admins. Decide who's allowed to change prices, invite people, manage the crew, or settle the tab, one setting at a time. Small group of mates? Leave it open. Fifty people from three different cities? Lock it down.

Getting everyone in

Share a link or hold up a QR code and let people scan it across the table. The link opens straight into the app with the group already showing, so nobody has to be walked through signing up. No admin approval, no waiting.

Your data, your call

Take a copy of everything Roundly holds on you whenever you want it. Opt out of stats if you'd rather not be on a leaderboard. Delete your account and it's gone, properly, along with your name on every round you ever fetched.

Nothing gets forgotten

Deleted a round you shouldn't have? Put it back. Realised halfway through the day that a beer costs more than you thought? Correct it across every round already logged, with a reason attached, and choose whether the price list changes for the rest of the night too.

Built for bad signal

No bars? Still works.

Thirty thousand people in a field share one cell tower, and it never ends well. Roundly doesn't care. Log rounds with no signal at all: they queue up on your phone and send themselves the moment you get a connection back, whether that's at the next stage or on the train home. Your group, your prices, and the rounds you've already logged are all there too, even on a cold start with no data.

Transparency

Every change, on the record.

Every round edit and deletion is on the record. The full history is always there, so there's no room for "I didn't do that" at 2am.
