This Privacy Policy explains how Roundly ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and handles your personal data when you use the Roundly mobile application and associated services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.
Roundly is an independently developed application. For any privacy-related questions or requests, please contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this policy.
When you create an account, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, and profile picture. Authentication is handled via a third-party identity provider (currently Keycloak). We receive only the claims included in your identity token, such as your user ID, name, and email address.
We collect information about how you interact with the Service. This includes the rounds you create, the groups you join, price list entries, settlement data, and other content you generate within the app.
We may collect technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, and error logs. This data is used to maintain and improve the Service.
The Service allows you to set a display name and avatar URL. Any information you choose to add to your profile is collected and stored by us.
We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data in the following circumstances:
We may share data with third-party service providers who assist in operating the Service, such as hosting providers, authentication services, error-tracking tools, and analytics platforms. These providers are given access only to the data necessary for their specific function and are required to handle it with reasonable confidentiality.
We may disclose your data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Roundly, our users, or the public.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance if your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy as a result.
We may share data for other purposes with your explicit consent.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as long as is necessary to provide the Service. We also retain data as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
We reserve the right to delete your data at our discretion, including in cases of account termination, extended inactivity, or discontinuation of the Service. See Section 7 for your rights regarding deletion.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and routine security reviews.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data, and you use the Service at your own risk. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights or freedoms, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address listed in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and no later than required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
If you are located in the European Economic Area and believe we have not adequately addressed your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that data promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as through an in-app notice or email. Continued use of the Service after the updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
